Who we are

The short version

We collect very little, we share it with no one, and most of what we do collect cannot be traced back to you. This page explains exactly what is held, why, and for how long.

Our assessments

Our assessments are open. We do not ask for your name, your email, or any account, and we do not record anything that identifies you or your device. We keep the anonymous responses and scores so we can improve the assessments over time. Because these records cannot be traced to any individual, we retain them indefinitely — there is no personal information in them to delete.

When you write to us

If you send us a message through the site, we store what you submit so we can reply. That includes the details you choose to give us, along with a hashed record of your network address and browser, which exists to limit automated abuse of the form.

Server logs

Like every web server, ours keeps a technical log of requests, including the IP address of the device making the request, the page requested, and the time. These logs rotate daily and are deleted after seven days. We do not use them to build a profile of you, we do not combine them with any other information, and we do not share them.

Who else is involved

Our website is hosted by DreamHost. They store our data on our behalf under a data processing agreement and may not use it for their own purposes. They are the only third party involved. We use no analytics service, no content delivery network, no advertising network, and no tracking of any kind.

Artificial intelligence

We are an AI-native firm and we use AI systems to analyse the information we hold. We do not use your data to train AI models. Where we analyse assessment results, we work with aggregate counts and answer distributions only — never with anything that identifies an individual.

The standard we hold ourselves to

We are not required to comply with the GDPR, and the CCPA and CPRA do not apply to us. We have adopted the GDPR as our operating standard anyway, because it is the stricter posture and because our data footprint is small enough that meeting it costs us almost nothing.

Where we rely on a lawful basis, it is legitimate interest for server logs and for keeping your message long enough to answer it.

Asking us what we hold

Requests go to legal@activetwist.com. We search our form submissions for the email address you supply, tell you what we hold, and delete it on request. We respond within 30 days, and confirm by reply when deletion is complete.

Assessment results cannot be located, because they are not linked to any identifier. We never learn who took an assessment, so there is nothing to retrieve and nothing to delete. That is by design.

Server access logs are deleted automatically after seven days and are not searchable by individual.

Scope and changes

This policy covers activetwist.com. Our book and project sites are separate and carry their own notices.

Effective date: on publication to activetwist.com. This policy takes effect when the site goes live at its public address; until then it is published here for review.
